Disabled registration process

  1. Registration
    • For those of you who wants to be registered as disabled person, must bring the ID to the community center of residence and apply for the disabled registration application.
    • In principle, the registration should be applied by the disabled person but for children who are under the age of 18 years or having difficulty to move, their guardians may apply by proxi.
  2. The Community Center provides information on the necessary documents for the examination of the degree of disability by type of disability.
  3. The applicant must submit a medical certificate for assessment of the degree of disability, medical record sheet and medical examination report from a specialized doctor of a medical institution to the community center of residence.
  4. Request for examination of the degree of disability to the National Pension Service.
  5. Issuing a disabled registration certificate to the relevant person according to the results of the disability registration examination.
  6. In principle, the cost of diagnosis should be paid by the applicant but if the applicant falls under the basic livelihood security recipient newly applying for the certificate or disabled person who need to renew, the cost of diagnosis will be supported within the applied range.
  7. Intellectual disability, autistic disorder, a mental disorder: 40,000 won, other disorders: 15,000 won.
    ※ Support can be provided even if the results of the degree of disability examination is not applicable to the degree of disability determination.
