Samseong Temple is located on 235, Insubong-ro, 23-gil, Gangbuk-gu of Seoul and it is directly governed by Jogyesa Temple, which is the first lineup in the Jogyejong of Korea Buddhism. Nabanjonja is also called “Dokseong” who has received hand written notes from the Buddha stating that he could reach the state of realization by practicing alone and worked alone in Cheontae Mountain of the south of India.
In Korea since the ancient times, we have served Nabanjonja (Dokseong) in a separate Jeongak. However, Samseong Temple is the first and only one that was built to serve Nabanjonja and to say prayers. In the spring of 1870, there were seven people who have said Dokseong prayers. They were highly faithful Buddhists named Park Seon Muk, Yu Seong Jong, Seo Yun Gu, Go Sang Jin, Yi Won Gi, Jang Yun Gu, and Yu Jae Ho.
Even before the foundation, Samseong Temple was a sacred shrine for saying prayers to Nabanjonja, and after the temple was built, many people have achieved their wishes and cured incurable disorders.
